Inter-Club Knock-out Competition supported by

Participating Teams: Exmouth, Sidmouth,
Axminster, Seaton
Objective: To
keep the general rules of cricket in force; to keep it simple with the
following rules and to allow the Umpires to use common sense when deciding
issues of reduced match length and overs not bowled in time (i.e. rain issues,
lost balls etc).
Rules:
- Hours of play as agreed Ð 30-minute interval
between innings.
- Each innings to last 75 minutes during which time
the 20th over must have been started (same principle for
reduced matches).
- Each bowler can only bowl 1/5th of the
overs due.
- At delivery: a)
not more that 5 fielders on the leg side
b) not more than 2 fielders outside the 30-yard circle
for 8 overs or 2/3rd of overs to be bowled
c) for remaining overs, only 5 fielders allowed
outside circle
- Wides shall be called for anything bowled down
leg side and in the Umpires opinion anything pitched one foot
outside off stump. Penalty shall be 2 runs per wide.
- No balls Ð normal laws of cricket apply.
- For any over not bowled within the allotted time,
a penalty of 10 runs shall be added to the batting sides score.
- To constitute a match, 10 overs in the first
innings must be bowled. The target score for the side batting second will
be the first sideÕs score divided by the overs received multiplied by the
overs the side batting second are due to receive plus 20 runs.
