HOLDERS Brixham will begin their defence of the Brockman Cup with a tricky date at home to Bovey Tracey next season.

   The first-round draw was made at the competition's annual meeting, hosted by Babbacombe CC, at which principal officers Max Sandford (chairman), John Webber (secretary) and Tim Chapman (treasurer) were all re-elected unopposed.

   Kingskerswell, who, lost in last season's final, have an equally tricky date with Stoke Gabriel, who were winners in 2006.

   Abbotskerswell and Paignton 3 rd XI, the beaten semi-finalists last season, face Dartington & Totnes and Cockington Corinthians respectively.

   South Devon, winners in 2005 when they defeated Brixham, have a derby date with Stokeinteignhead.

   First round: Shaldon Optimists v Torquay; Stokeinteignhead v South Devon; Abbotskerswell v Dartington & Totnes; Ipplepen v Chelston (May 13).   Brixham v Bovey Tracey, Cockington v Paignton; Kingskerswell v Stoke Gabriel (May 20). Bye Babbacombe.

   Second round: Abbotskerswell or Dartington & Totnes v Cockington or Paignton; Kingskerswell or Stoke Gabriel v Babbacombe (May 27). Ipplepen or Chelston v Brixham or Bovey Tracey; Stokeinteignhead or South Devon v Shaldon Optimists or Torquay (June 3).

   Semi-finals: Monday, June 16 and Friday, June 20. Reserve date: Friday, June 27.

   Final: Friday, July 4. Reserve date: Monday, July 7. Both semi-finals and final at Torquay CC.
