CORINTHIAN
cup holders Dartington & Totnes breezed into the second
round of this year's competition with a crushing 78-run
win over Stoke Gabriel.
Scott Stevenson top scored with 46 in D&T's total
of 157 for eight from 16 eight-ball overs. South African
Bertus Loots was next best with 43.
Pick of the Stoke Gabriel bowlers with four for 33 was
Tom Armstrong.
Stoke were routed for 79 in reply with Paul Collings (22no)
eventually running out of people to bat with.
Ryan Stevenson picked up three for six, Loots claimed
two for 19 and Dave Carter had two for 26.
Waiting for Dartington in the next round are the winners
of the game between Ipplepen and Abbotskerswell.
Feniton got their Corinthian Cup campaign off to a winning
start with a comfortable success at Cullompton.
Skipper Mark Kingdom led by example with an unbeaten 82
and there was an aggressive half-century from Aussie Nick
Robartson in a total of 220.
The mid-Devon hosts were then bundled out for 120 with
the wickets shared around
Kingdom said: “We like this competition and look forward
to doing well in it again this year.”
Next up for Kingdom and his merry men is a trip to Axminster.
