Dave Bayliss

My background in cricket is:-

I have played cricket all my life starting in Kent up to the age of 17 and then joined Plymouth Civil Service CC in 1984, where I have played ever since. I captained the first team for a number of years in the 1990's and more recently have helped run the club mainly being involved in the management of the Colts Section. This had led me onto becoming a Level 2 coach, which I enjoy immensely.

I have the following roles & responsibilities for the DCB and I also undertake roles at a regional / national level for:-

I am Chairman of the West Devon Cricket Development Group which was set up about 4 years ago by the DCB, to help the Cricket Development Manager to develop cricket in the West of the county. It has proved to be a successful forum for the local clubs and officials to discuss cricket development in their clubs and in the West region. It has helped to focus clubs on what they require to develop in line with the ECB guidelines and to promote best practice for running a successful cricket club in our society.

I sit on the Devon Cricket Board Committee, which I enjoy as it enables me to input into the development of cricket in Devon ,

I can help you with:-

I am able to help and give clubs advice on ClubMark, creating school-club links, CRB , Welfare Officers, Natwest Cricket Force, Chance to Shine, coaching & training courses

I am only able to offer all of the above if your club is affiliated to the DCB

What best describes you which is not mentioned already?

I currently coach the West Devon under 14's team and am a member of the West Devon Coaches Association, which manages the District Programme and runs ‘1 to 1' coaching sessions throughout the winter.
