My background in cricket is:-

Having played sport, primarily Rugby (Exeter, Devon, BPSA and OPMs) and Cricket (all Devon Youth Age groups, West of England U19s, Tavistock, Plymouth and Plymstock) all my life, I decided in 1994 that it was time to give something back to the sport that had given me so much; I took the old NCA Coaching Course, shortly followed by the Senior Course, then the Advanced Course and became an ECB Staff Coach- a Coach Educator. As soon as I qualified I became involved with Plymouth/West Devon Coaching and organised and ran the courses, WDCCA, Plymouth Cricket Development Group, which became the WDCDG until 2005. From 1997 to 2005 I coached and managed the Devon Under 14s. I was fortunate to win an ECB OSCA in 2005. Shortly afterwards I gave up all my roles and after an 18 month gap I am now back involved- but to a lesser degree- I wish!

I have the following roles & responsibilities for the DCB and I also undertake roles at a regional / national level for:-

As Chair of the DCBCA I represent the Coaches' Association on the Board.

I liase with the District Coaches' Associations, look after the Coaches' Web pages, produce quarterly ENewsletters, and assist (general dogs body!) wherever needed.

I can help you with:-

General DCBCA queries, (if you can't get hold of Webby or Matt, I may be able to help!), cricket coaching/Youth cricket/management ideas and queries, I particularly enjoy analysis (live or video), IT and the sports science aspects of the sport.

I currently assist at the DCB Cricket Academy , with Coach Education and run the Plymouth College Under 15s side.
