My background in cricket is:- Introduced to cricket as a 7 year old at Paignton CC and was the 2ndXI scorer aged 11 doing the averages on the bus at away games while the players were in the pub! Captained DSCA(U15) and Devon Colts(U19) and played for Devon before joining Royal Navy. Captained Royal Navy and Combined Services including games against West Indies , Pakistan , NZ, Sri Lanka touring teams.Chairman and President RNCC before retirement in 1995. Played irregularly for Devon when available and was capped in 1973. Member MCC since 1966.

I have the following roles & responsibilities for the DCB and I also undertake roles at a regional / national level for:- As Chairman Devon CCC I represent the County Club on the Board, having been the founder Chairman of the Board from 1997 to 2003. I served on the ECB Management Board from 2000 to 2005 as an elected representative of the County Cricket Boards, and now serve in that capacity on the Recreational Cricket Group. I am a Trustee and Director of the England and Wales Cricket Trust, the charitable arm of ECB which channels funding down to the recreational side of the game.

I can help you with:- General advice on aspects of the workings of ECB and its relationship with the County Boards . Advice on all aspects of the Devon County Cricket Club – if I can't answer your question, I probably know a man who can!
