April is an important month for the League and its clubs

The shape of things to come!

The Tolchards Devon Cricket League is presently in consultation with all of its member clubs regarding a re-structure of the League into a Single Tier (All Through League) structure.  Clubs have been asked to respond to an on-line survey with their views, based around a proposal created by the League Fixtures officer, Phil Bees.

“We’ve encouraged clubs to consult as widely as they can with their membership, as we are anxious to get a real feeling of club views”, said Ed Leverton, League Secretary.   The closing date for the consultation is Wednesday 1st March.  A single response is sought from each club.  An email with a link to the survey has been sent to Club Chairmen, Secretaries and League Representatives.

Once the survey has closed the League Management team will refresh the original proposal. An EGM will be held on Thursday 27th April, at the Exeter Court Hotel, Exeter to decide its fate.  If accepted, then the new structure will be implemented from 2018.

The League will be holding a meeting for all Club Captains and Chairmen on Tuesday 18th April, at the same venue, to share with them the new Discipline Code that will come into effect for the 2017 season.  DACO members will also be in attendance at this important meeting.   This will also be the occasion of the League’s annual distribution meeting when clubs will collect all the information, match balls and league handbooks, in readiness for the new season.

Information regarding the dates for these meetings and their aims, have been sent to all member clubs today.
