BRIXHAM
came a 10-wicket cropper against Hatherleigh, who bowled
them out for 77 then knocked off the runs in just 12.1
overs.
Sam Thomas and Chris Lanyon
were the only Brixham batters in double figures as Chris
Downs (4-21) and Ben Stacey (3-8) whipped them out.
Pat Holland (52no) and Gavin Bryant (24no) wrapped up
a 20-pointer for Hatherleigh with the minimum of fuss.
Bradninch II chalked up a second successive win with a
108-run victory over Braunton. Lucas Fencl, who top scored
with 58, and Robert Acton (30) helped guide Bradninch
186-9.
That proved far too much for Braunton, who were bowled
out for 78 with Andy Nicholls again amongst the wickets,
he claimed 3-23, and last years 1st XI skipper Chris Acton
picking up four for five.
CHUDLEIGH
took the best of a draw from a 38-over game away to Barnstaple
& Pilton.
Nick Halse continued his early
season form for Chudleigh with 71 and probably would have
made a few more had a mix-up with Mark Heather (39no)
not led to him being run out.
Heather batted through to the close and with back up from
Nick Argyle (17no, a former Bideford player, Chudleigh
reached 178 for three.
Early strikes by Dave Williams (2-29) and Shaun Taylor
(1 for 18) left B&P wobbling on 48 for three before
Rodney Bowden (61) and Henry McEndoo (51) introduced some
stability.
Ben Ripley (3-17) entered
the attack to claim two wickets in the same over and put
Chudleigh back in the driving seat.
Lewis Howard (1-16) removed Bowden with the score on 140
and B&P clammed up after that, opting for safety first
and a draw at 146 for seven
BRADNINCH
II chalked up a second successive victory with a 108-run
win over Braunton.
Lucas Fencl, who has switched
to Bradninch from Alphington, top scored with 58 and Robert
Acton made 30 in a total of 186-9.
That proved far too much for Braunton, who were bowled
out for 78 with Andy Nicholls (3-23) and last year's first
team skipper Chris Acton (4-9) among the wickets.
