DARTINGTON
& Totnes jumped from third to second in the D Division
West after beating Exeter IIIs by seven wickets.
Exeter were 46 for seven after
18 overs before Steve Milne (23) and 14-year-old Lloyd White,
who made 36 batting at number nine, moved the score along.
Aided by a share of 44 extras, White and Milne got Exeter
up to 128 for eight. The innings subsided after that to
131 all out with six overs to go. Joe Smith (4-19) took
the bowling honours for D&T.
Dartington had few problems knocking off the runs and only
lost three wickets in the 31 overs they used.
Principle scorers were Steve Rew (23), Justin Osborne (23)
and Cliff Lowe (48).
Knock of the day in the D Division West was Paul Horne's
unbeaten 142 for Dawlish & Teignmouth in their nine-wicket
win over Plymouth CS.
Kingskerswell and Cockington traded places in the D Division
West after the former beat the latter by 51 runs.
Batting first on a damp wicket wasn't fun for Kerswell,
who declined from 35 for one to 45 for six before an impressive
stand of 89 between Gary Clulee (41) and Matt Stevens (39)
rescued the innings.
Kerswell eventually closed on 153 all out after 44 of the
46 overs. James Howrihane shot through the bottom half of
the order to take six for 33.
Cockington didn't find it any easier with wickets falling
regularly towards an eventual total of 102 all out.
Only Doug Dumont (23) and Cockington skipper Steve Mudge
(19) were able to bat for any length of time.
The Kerswell bowlers who did most of the damage were Gary
Clulee (3-23) and Nathan Weedon (3-22).
Kerswell moved up to fifth with Cockington dropping to sixth.
Ipplepen remain 14 points clear at the top following a drawn
game with Roborough. David Harris (37) and Richard Hayman
(35) made the runs in a total of 191 for eight. Rob Hey's
three for 45 helped restrict Roborough to 151 for eight
in reply.
THE E Division West programme was badly hit by the weather
with two of the four games failing to start at all and two
more being rained off long before the finish.
