ROBROUGH
failed to follow up their win over Dunsford in Group A
a week earlier as they lost by 20 runs to visiting Ashburton.
The Pascoe brothers,
Phil and Chris, played a prominent part in proceedings
for Ashburton. Younger Brother Chris hit 44, Phil scored

SHALDON
Optimists were blown away in damp conditions at Exeter
Civil Service where the home side needed just 17 overs
to have the visitors back in the pavilion preparing to
field!
After opener Ritchie Burnett
had bagged a couple of wickets Rhyann Carryl and Kris
Calderhead came on as a double change to devastating effect.
Carryll took 3-11 and Calderhead bagged five for 12 as
Shaldon were all out for just 60.
The Home side lost four wickets in a quickfire run chase,
but Burnett and Harry Weld-Forrester made scores in the
high teens,, the latter hitting the winning runs.
Civil's Greg Newcombe said: “With the wily old Rhyann
(Carryl) and Kris (Calderhead) in such a mood, we were
always on top. We played good cricket today - our fielding
and bowling was excellent”.
For the losers, skipper James Fulner said: “If
we had managed another 25 runs the game might well have
been very different.
“I can't praise my side highly enough for to come out
and attack a score of just 60 in the way that they did
was exceptional. They fielded and bowled very well.”
The game between Keyham & Buckfastleigh and Dunsford
was called off due to a waterlogged pitch.
