KINGSBRIDGE put some distance between themselves and the C Division relegation area by winning the only game to take place in the section on Saturday.
The opposition were Clyst Hydon and the outcome was a seven-wicket win for Kingsbridge.
Clyst Hydon struggled to make 169 all out – Graham Trude top scoring with 34 – although that total represented a substantial recovery after they had been 56 for six.
Ben Glover (4-36) and Neil Peach (35) ripped into Clyst Hydon from the word go and only thanks to Trude and Kevin Sercombe (30) was a defendable total put on the board.
Kingsbridge then had a collapse of their own at the start of their reply as Sercombe (3-35) nipped out Mark Stacey, Glover and Steve Gledhill one after the other. At 25 for three there were some anxious faces in the home camp.
Steve Inch (71no) and Andy Wilmott (75no) soothed the fevered brows by rattling along to 170 without further mishap to win the game with five overs in hand.
With no one else playing, Kingsbridge climbed ahead of Feniton and into sixth spot in the table.
