WELL-known former Devon cricket league player James McMahon has taken over the reins as playing coach for 2010 at South Hampstead Cricket Club, North West London.
Aussie McMahon had two seasons with South Devon before switching to Abbotskerswell in 2003.
The club captain is Tim McMahon, another Abbotskerswell old boy, who would welcome any potential new players looking for a club in London.
South Hampstead play in the Middlesex Cricket League. The club 's first XI plays in the second division of the league.
Said James: “We are on a winter recruitment drive, and looking for people who might be moving into the area from the South West and want to have a hit with a hard-working and dedicated group of cricketers.
“It’s a family oriented club with a good community spirit.”
Winter indoor nets are taking place at Lords Cricket Ground on Sunday afternoons until outdoor training starts in April.
