HOLDERS Bovey Tracey have been drawn at home to Babbacombe in the preliminary round of this season’s Aaron Printers Narracott Cup competition.The draw, made by competition sponsor Marcel Massey at his Aaron Printers shop in Newton Abbot, handed beaten finalists Dartington & Totnes a home game against Kingskerswell in the preliminary round.
Having been defeated in the last two finals, Dartington & Totnes will be hoping to go all the way this year. However, they will face 2011 winners Stoke Gabriel if they get over the first hurdle.
Bovey’s path to another final won’t be easy as their first-round opponents, subject to progression, are Abbotskerswell.
There is one other game in the preliminary round, which sees Paignton entertaining Barton.

Preliminary round: Bovey Tracey v Babbacombe (May 9); Dartington & Totnes v Chelston (May 28); Paignton v Barton (May 16).
First round: Bovey Tracey v Abbotskerswell (May 23), Ipplepen v Shaldon Optimists (May 23); Stoke Gabriel v Dartington & Totnes or Chelston (May 30), Torquay v Barton (May 30).
Semi-finals (neutral venues): Bovey Tracey or Abbotskerswell v Stoke Gabriel or Dartington & Totnes or Kingskerswell (TBC June 13); Torquay or Paignton or Barton v Ipplepen or Shaldon (Stoke Gabriel CC, June 20). Reserve date: June 27.
Final: South Devon CC, July 12 6pm start.
Entry fees for the competition remain pegged at £10 for the ninth successive season. So far, only Babbacombe have paid their entry fee for 2013. Clubs are asked to send a cheque made payable to the Aaron Printers Narracott Cup to the treasurer, Carol Comber at 7 St Johns Street, Newton Abbot TQ12 2DQ.
