EXWICK CRICKET CLUB

Exwick Cricket Club formerly Exeter Civil Service Cricket Club are looking forward to bright future and and new ground.

They currently play at Foxhayes Exwick, formerly the home of Exeter Civil Service Social Club, following the demise of the Social Club the lease for the ground was taken over by Exeter College.

Since then Chairman Ray Lloyd has been working with Exeter College, Exeter City Council, The ECB & Sports England to ensure the long term future for the long standing club, and he is delighted with the progress being made.

Exeter College have some exciting plans for sport in the area but this will mean the relocation of the Cricket Square which currently sits in the middle of the available playing area at the Foxhayes ground, which is not ideal for their plans.

Exeter College have been very supportive of the Cricket team and are mindful of their responsibility to look after one of our favourite National Sports, with this in mind they are currently negotiating with Exeter City Council to take over the management of Exwick Playing Fields with the intention of turning the whole area into a Centre of Excellence for Cricket, Football & Rugby.

Exeter College with the support of Exeter City Council, The ECB & Sports England have advanced plans to lay a new Cricket Square up on Exwick Playing fields to ECB specifications, the result will be an excellent facility for cricket in Exwick.

Chairman Lloyd, says the outlook for the club is brilliant, having a dedicated cricket square will allow us to explore the possibility of Colts/Youth/Girls Cricket to help the game reach more of the local population.

The club currently run two teams in the Devon Cricket League every Saturday and a Mid-Week Team in the Exeter Tuesday T20 League.

New players are always welcome, the club is also looking for a volunteer to Score for its home games contact Ray Lloyd on 07816 110567,

Lloyd is also pleased to announce a new Sponsor for the clubs new Shirts: Jillings Heynes Planning.
