IVYBRIDGE beat bottom side Dartington & Totnes by seven wickets to open up a 19-point lead over Plymstock at the top of the B Division table.

While Ivybridge were winning at Foxhole, former leaders Plymstock were sliding to a third successive defeat, this time at the hands of Thorverton.

Plymstock are feeling the pressure from both sides now as third-placed Bideford are level on points now after beating Ottery St Mary.

Dartington were all out for 130 in the last of their 45 overs – Ed Verrall top scoring on 37.

Best of the rest was Gavin Colegate who made 18 going in at number nine.

The Ivybridge wicket taking was shared round with three for Jeewan De Silva (3-21) and two each for Jamie Bullock, Pete Abraham and spinner Harry Solomon.

Losing four wickets for one run going from 86 for four to 87 for eight did D&T no favours,

Ivybridge lost opener Solomon in the sixth over with the score on 25 – lofty paceman Nick Dennis striking – then got to 105 without further mishap.

Adam Kopparambil (43no) batted through to the end and 44 from Josh Zimmerman settled the issue long before the end.

The relegation waters may be closing in over D&T, but skipper James Howrihane isn’t too downcast.

“It is only the second time this season we have been properly outclassed in all areas and it has been ivybridge on both occasions,” said Howrihane.

“They are the best team in this division by some distance.

“We are all about enjoying the rest of the season and see if we can pick up a couple of results along the way.”
