KENN knocked Ashburton off the top of the D West table when they beat them by seven wickets.

Shaldon moved back in front of Ashburton after they defeated Topsham St James by56 runs, but there isn’t a lot in it.

Shaldon lead Ashburton by two points with Yelverton a further 19 points behind.

Yelverton play Ashburton this Saturday in a game that will make or break the Moorlanders’ promotion hopes.

Shaldon, who play Yelverton on the last day of the season, go to lowly Newton St Cyres.

Ashburton were held to 172 for nine with Martin Causey (30) and Rob Lacey (38no) the leading run getters.

Ed Bragg was the man of the match for Kenn with four for 25 when they bowled and 70 not out on the chase. James Gosling chipped in with 43.

Tshepo Legodi had a field day for Shaldon as they won a low-scoring affair at Topsham.

The former Exeter and Tavistock all-rounder hit a priceless 39 off 31 balls for Shaldon to rescue them from the depths of 29 for four after an early hammering by Ed Kirby (6-19).

Legodi and Kevin Haycock (22) contributed 56 for the fifth wicket with Haycock and Carl Woolnough (20) taking the total close to the eventual score of 120 all out. Ross Treleaven had three for 21.

Topsham got to 51 for two without too many issues – Treleaven (20) and Ed Baxter (23) getting them there.

Legodi had an almost instant impact – three wickets in four balls which would have been hat-trick had he not chucked down a wide.

Legodi took eight wickets for 22 runs in eight overs as Topsham were sent packing for 64.

Once Legodi came on no one made more than six and five batters didn’t make a run between them as eight wickets fell for 13 added.

Stokeinteignhead didn’t hang about completing a nine-wicket win over Buckland Monachorum.

Hugo Longrigg took four wickets, Chris Prestt claimed three and Roger Putman had a couple as Buckland were bowled out for 80 in 30 overs,

Take out John Talbott’s 18 and 16 extras and there was not a lot from the rest.

Stoke lost opener Prestt (26) at 60 leaving Paul Russell (36no) and Andrew Thornton-Clarke (14no) to complete the chase before the 11^th over was complete.

Dave Church had a good case for the man of the match award for Newton St Cyres in their 41-run win over South Brent,

Church (33) and Tom Sunderland (49) put on 87 for the sixth wicket in St Cyres’ total of 202 all out. Dave Lewis had three of their wickets for 17 runs.

Church then took six for 26 in nine overs as South Brent were bowled out for 161, Andy Cork (2-26) tided-up the loose ends after Church was bowled out.

Richard Goldsby-West and Peter Lojszczyk saw Yelverton over the hump to a seven-wicket win at Exwick,

Exwick were bowled out for 151 in over 42 – Nick Rowe hitting a top score of 49 not out.

The wickets were shared round with three each for Hadleigh Scott-Kirk, Dan Cooper and Dan Farnham.

Yelverton were in a spot of bother at 39 for three when Lojszczyk went out to join his captain.

Lojszczyk made 54 not out and Goldsby-West an unbeaten 71 to knock-off the total with more than 22 overs to spare.
