OTTERY are back in the thick of the B Division promotion race thanks to a seven-wicket win over Dartington & Totnes.

The Otters have been wobbling in recent weeks as defeats by Bideford and Tavistock cost them a share of third place.

Beating D&T has put Ottery third in the latest table, just four points behind second-placed Plymstock.

Ottery visit leaders Ivybridge this Saturday and a win there will send out a message of intent to promotion rivals Plymstock and Bideford.

For Dartington & Totnes it seems the end is nigh as they have been cast adrift at the foot of the table.

In a division with three relegation places, D&T are 63 points away from safety with 80 left to play for.  A defeat by Tavistock this Saturday will send them down.

Dartington made 180 for eight in 45 overs, largely due to South African Ed Verrall (57) getting to 120 for three with help from Jon Colegate (21) and Kalon Veale (28).

Chris Cook made a patient 36 off 63 balls in the bottom half of the order.

Pick of the bowling with three for 17 off nine was Jody Clements. Ollie Reed and Alex Thurgate had two wickets each.

Ottery charged to 131 for one as openers Dan Flower (58) and Billy Rudolph (65) got on with it.

George Biggs missed out, but Billy Reed (20) and Rudolph took Ottery within seven runs of victory before James Howrihane (3-64) dismissed Rudolph.
