THORVERTON eased their relegations worries considerably with a crushing eight-wicket win over fellow strugglers Braunton.

Had they lost it Thorverton could have been dragged back into the bottom three. Winning gives Thorverton a 22-point safety margin between them and the drop spots.

“We are not safe yet, but winning our last three games has definitely improved our position,” said Thors skipper David Baldock.

“We still need two more wins in my view and I would like to get one of them this Saturday.”

Braunton were all out for 108 in their 38th over – and Thorverton gave them 21 of their runs in extras, Best off the bat was Alex Hodges with 18.

Jake Crouch bagged four wickets for 22 runs and Jake Choules took three for 17.

It was all a bit of a cakewalk for Thorverton, who knocked off the runs in just 22 overs.

Paul Fielder opened up with 39, leaving George Greed and skipper Baldock with a brace of 28s to wrap things up.
