The criteria for selection of the Devon Under 17 squad is to ensure that a suitably balanced and settled side is selected that will compete in the Premier Division of the ECB Competitions. Considerations for prospective players should include :-

Character: Shows a desire and commitment to play for the Devon Under 17s. Dedicated to improve his game, technically, tactically, physically and mentally. Shows respect and loyalty to team mates and coaches.

Performance: has shown contributing performances against strong club men's opposition and dominant county age group performances in previous years.

Development: Has the capacity to develop and has the attributes to perform in both three and one day cricket
