Overcast skies greeted the teams at a well manicured Exeter ground on Sunday morning.
Devon captain Harry Passenger won the toss and asked Oxfordshire to bat. Due to the weather the game at the outset was reduced to 35 overs per side.
After a superb opening spell by Ed Butler and Jack Whittaker the visitors reached 13-0 from 10 overs.
They played some shots and got to 68-5 off 20 overs with wickets shared 1 each to the other 4 bowlers used. The weather was to intervene at this point and tea was taken.
Alex Carr our Duckworth Lewis expert suggested we play a T20 match and we would add 20 runs to the Devon target.
So the Devon team needed 89 off 20 overs to win. It was a slow but steady start and Devon reached 32-1 after 10 overs. A solid partnership between Cameron Ford (35*) and Nick Jones (26) off 68 broke the back of the target and Devon got home with 2 overs to spare.
A day dominated by the weather but a convincing win with bat and ball from Devon!

Devon u11 arrived to warm sunshine and a cloudy sky at Taunton St Andrews. The pitch looked dry and hard and Devon had no hesitation in batting first. Openers Jake Pascoe(51) and Matt Jeacock(40) put on 104 for the first wicket in 22 overs. A great base to accelerate from and bat Somerset out of the game. Lawrence Walker(55*)  and Ed Butler(21) duly obliged in helping Devon reach 221-4 off 40. Somerset made a similar start before Devon struck in the 18th over reaching 78-1. Devon kept applying the pressure and Somerset couldn't get a partnership going and were bowled out for 144 in the 37th over.

Devon made the 2hr trip to a lovely village ground to play Gloucestershire on a lovely hot sunny day.
Glou were asked to bat on an unknown wicket and struck early in the 3rd over. Devon had to wait until the 12th before the next wicket fell and Glou were on 40-2. Good progress was made by Glou despite losing regular wickets, reached 193-8 after their 40 overs. Jacob Kopparambil was the pick of the Devon bowlers with 3-18.
After tea Devon batted with intent and despite losing a group of wickets showed that a partnership or 2 wins chases. A good start from opener Jake Pascoe(34) and then a 111 run partnership between Lawrence Walker(81*) and Alec Holifield(49), carried Devon over the line with 4 overs in hand and 6 wickets in the bag.

The unbeaten Devon U11s travelled to drizzly Newport to try and maintain their unbeaten run this season.
The weather meant a 30ov game was on the cards and Gwent asked Devon to bat. Runs at the top set the tone and Devon imposed a challenging target of 151-8 for Gwent to overcome. Devon kept wickets in the bank until the back 10 overs really well and managed to push on from 82-2 after 20 to the 151-8 finishing total.
It was evident early on that Gwent were going to struggle against the pace of the Devon bowlers but 8 wickets were taken by spin. Gwent crumbled to 59ao in19 overs.

Wiltshire travelled to Plympton CC for a very tense match.
Wiltshire batted first on a tricky slowish deck. Matt Jeacock got the breakthrough in the 7th over with the score on just 17. Wiltshire rebuilt but very slowly and Devon had to wait 14 more overs before the next wicket fell. This changed the game and wickets fell regularly with Jack Whitaker bagging 3 and Wiltshire who looked like setting a large total were reduced to 139-9.
Jack Whitaker 3-13
James Tyler 2-21

Devon needed someone to bat long and see the team home. Having lost opener Cam Ford in over 3, out stepped Lawrence Walker. A super 60* from him meant Devon were able to get across the line in the 37th over.
Lawrence Walker 60*

Devon won by 3 wickets.
