The Devon Cricket Board will be re-launched in 2017 and we are searching for high quality applicants with a passion for cricket as well as business acumen.  The new Devon Cricket Board will be representative of cricket across the county with nine Directors.  Of these Directors, six will be from within the game (Recreational Cricket Directors), two will be from outside of the game but have a passion for cricket (Independent Directors) and one will be your lead professional, The Cricket Development Manager.

Devon Cricket is looking for six dynamic, innovative and committed individuals from within cricket to join the new Devon Cricket Board of Directors. Two Recreational Cricket Directors will be appointed for a three-year term, two Recreational Cricket Directors for two-year terms and two Recreational Cricket Directors for a one-year term.

A Recreational Cricket Director must be a member of a Devon Cricket Affiliated club, league, district or association and must be proposed and seconded by a Devon Cricket affiliated club, league, district or association.

Devon Cricket is looking for two dynamic, innovative and committed individuals, independent of Devon cricket administration, to join the new Devon Cricket Board of Directors. One Director will be appointed for a three-year term and one Director for a two-year term.

An Independent Director must be independent of cricket administration in Devon i.e. they cannot be an official, committee or Board member of any cricket organisation in Devon. They may or may not be a member of a cricket organisation in Devon.

Remuneration – Voluntary Company Director role, expenses paid

All Directors will be interviewed by an Independent Nominations Panel which will make recommendations to a forthcoming Devon Cricket EGM.

We welcome applications from any person who is eligible to undertake the role of a Company Director and is a member of a Devon Cricket affiliated organisation. Devon Cricket will endeavour to ensure that no Board Director or potential Board Director receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of age, disability, gender reassignment, religion/faith, sex, sexual orientation, religious/political belief or social background. All members of Devon Cricket affiliated organisation are actively encouraged to apply.  

The Devon Crickets’ Board’s role is to:

  1. Agree Devon Crickets’ vision and strategic plan and ensure that the necessary financial and human resources are in place for the company to meet its objectives
  2. Provide leadership and expertise within a framework of effective financial control that enables risk to be assessed and managed
  3. Set the Devon Cricket values and standards and ensure that its obligations to its members and others are understood and met

Devon Cricket is looking for Recreational Cricket Directors from different geographical areas of Devon who have experience of the junior and/or senior game. In addition we are looking for Independent Directors to constructively challenge how things are currently done. 

Collectively we need the right balance of skills, knowledge, experience, independence and diversity to meet the needs of cricket and the communities we serve.  As a group, Board Directors need to demonstrate experience of change management, strategic planning, relationship management, executive performance review, finance, risk assessment and diversity/inclusion.
