Hydon skipper Ian Sutton said: It was a good toss to win on a good wicket.

“What was pleasing was that a number of people chipped in, but one of us needs to go on and get the big score next time.

“It was unfortunate for them that they only had 10 players, which was reduced to nine through a fielding injury.

“They had a good stab at the chase and were always ahead of the run rate, but we picked up some wickets at important times.”

Sutton added: “Our bowling was a little erratic with a lot of wides, but it was the first time using the new Tiflex balls and all the bowlers seemed to use that as an excuse.

“I would expect that to improve in future.”
