SATURDAY’S programme in the C Division West was washed out sooner or later with only two games starting and none actually finishing.

Shaldon and Chagford got half a game played at Hazeldown before rain stopped play.

Shaldon were inserted by Chagford captain Del Lammonby and bowled out for 125.

Lammonby (4-24) took four of the wickets to fall as Shaldon slipped to 68 for seven. Opener Andy Espley made 27.

Dan Woolnough (17) and Kelsey Fahey (34) added 28 with Fahey batting on until he was last man out.

There were two wickets for South African J P van Rensburg, who also ran-out Woolnough.

Shaldon have a trip to basement side Plymouth CS&R to look forward to this Saturday.

Chagford are at home to South Devon, whose match with Dartington & Totnes was among the weather casualties.

Ashburton and Kingsbridge didn’t get started – neither did Bridestowe and Plymouth CS&R.

Babbacombe got in some batting practice at Stoke Gabriel ahead of the top-of-the-table clash coming up with Ashburton.

Stoke bowled 25 overs at Babbacombe, who made 146 for one.

Jake Hand perished for nine with the score on 17, the only success for any of Stoke’s six bowlers.

Veteran Mike Pugh (61) and Steve Lewis (49) were the not out batsman when the game was halted.

Stoke Gabriel are away to Bridestowe this Saturday.
