EXETER and Sidmouth are top of the Premier Division table according to ground and pitch markings awarded by umpires.

The league table of markings just published for the first eight games of the season has a 90 per cent satisfaction rating from umpires for the County Ground and the Fortfield.

North Devon are in third place with an 86 per cent rating.

At the other end of the table are Bovey Tracey (66.25%) and Exmouth (63.75).

North Devon (99.38%), Bradninch (98.75) and Exeter (98.13) are neck and neck at the top of the marks awarded for players and captains.

Marks across the Premier Division all exceed an impressive 90 per cent.

Pitch marks are lower in the A Division, where Sandford (87.5%) are rated fractionally ahead of Cornwood and Hatherleigh (both 85%).

Plymstock have the lowest mark at 55 per cent, not far behind Chudleigh (60%).

Hatherleigh skipper Mark Lake and is team aren’t just top of the league table – they also head the marks (98.13%) for players and captains.

Second best are Sandford (97.5%) with Chudleigh, Cornwood and Lewdown all within one percentage point.
