THOMAS Keily slammed exactly 100 in boundaries on his way to 144 in Abbotskerswell’s 14-run win at Seaton.

Abbots lost opener Elliott Adams in single figures, but skipper Charlie Mitchell and Keily racked-up 151 for the second wicket.

Mitchell went for 78 off 72 balls – eight four, two sixes – but Keily kept going.

There was another stand of 97 with Jimmy Fulner – he made a rapid 38 – before Rob Prior (3-53) bowled Keily.

Keilly faced 113 balls for his 144 and hit 19 fours and four sixes – exactly 100.

Richard Acton hit 39 not out from 22 balls as Abbots reached 349 for seven.

Ben Morgan was the only Seaton bowler to go for less than seven and over.

Riccardo Small-Boyce picked up three wickets in his first spell to put Seaton on the back foot.

Proir (68) and Josh Cann (55) added 111 for the fourth wicket, taking the score to 150.

Bonus points were Seaton’s target from then on. Morgan (31no) with a bit of help from Steve Pritchard (16) and Be Goodier (10no) ensured Seaton got what they wanted.

Abbots’ chairman Paul Mitchell, who was pressed into service to do the scoring, said he was surprised by the way the game went.

“Week in and week out Seaton don't concede big scores so to hit 350 was a great effort by our guys, although it was a belting pitch,” said Mitchell.

“Tom Keily was brutal on anything slightly loose and a great partnership with Charlie Mitch set the scene

Three quick wickets from Ricky, who was hostile, after tea and it looked like we might roll them.

“Fair play to their guys, they dug deep and made sure they got the full batting points thanks to a classy knock from Josh Cann, well supported by Rob Prior.

“All 20 points would have been nice, but we wil take 18 any day of the week.”

Seaton captain Morgan had no problems identifying what went wrong and where.

“We didn't bowl very well and dropped three early catches, which set the tone and would have changed the course of their innings if even one had been taken.

“Keily batted superbly on a decent batting track. We don't normally bowl badly so hopefully it's just a one off.

“We aimed to chase down the 350 but once we were 170 for five with 13 to go, full batting points was the target.”
