BRIXHAM’S third win in four starts has moved them within touching distance of safety in the A Division.

Andy Pugh hit 47 not out and Tom Robinson 45 in Brixham’s total of 170 all out agaiinst Lewdown.

With George Northcott chipping in with 44 too, the top order more than did their job.

With wickets in hand the bat was thrown in the latter stages and Lewdown’s Richard Goldsby-West cashed in to take six wickets for 21 runs.

Lewdown were all out for 133 in reply – no one making more than Leon Horn (41).

Jason Oakes had three for 33 and Mark Orchard scrumped two for 38 to speed Brixham to a 37-run win.

Plymstock’s defeat by Chudleigh put Brixham 16 points clear of them at the bottom.

Ivybridge (103pts) and Plympton (106) are only a win away for Brixham, who are on 97 points.

Brixham are away to Hatherleigh this Saturday. The leaders will want to boune back from a defeat by Cornwood last Saturday, thier first league loss of the season.
