ERIK Gregersen has a place in the Devon League record books thanks to his double-ton and some for Chelston & Kingskerswell against St Marychurch Old Boys.

The highest score in the E Division West was the 203 not out made by Tom Wyatt for Upottery against Newton St Cyres in 2007. Not any more!

Gregersen made 218 not out as Chelston & Kingskerswell piled up 342 for two against St Marychurch Old Boys.

“Completely chanceless,” was how skipper Mark Faulkner described the innings.

“Erick has got in and threatened big scores before – now he has done it.”

There were stands of 169 with Nick Guest (55) and 170 unbroken with Gary Brenton (38).

Both wickets to fall went to Roy Prentice (2-53).

The Old Boys were all out for 96 in reply – more than looked likely when they were 50 for eight with Marcus Thompson already out for 18.

Gary Ibbotson (19) and Sean Tucker (20) hung around for a while at the end.

Will Leighton (3-28) got into the top five. Kevin Jones, Russ Bennett and F P Duke shared six more.

Chelston & Kingskerswell sit third in the table behind leaders Kenn and Yelverton. They visit lowly Exwick this Saturday afternoon.

KENN charge on at the top of the D Division West after beating Exwick by six wickets.

Opener Howard Rose (25) and Adam Harding (33) had the scores of note for Exwick in a total of 166 all out.

Ed Bragg took four for 12 and there were two wickets each for Jack Thomas and Rob Parsons.

Martin Swannell (52) and James Gosling (25) made a start to the chase, then Thomas (38) and Pete Chislett (23no) finished it off.

THE game between Whitchurch and Yelverton ended no-result as rain stopped play.

Opener Dan Cooper fired 62 and with a brace of 38s from Ben grove and Geoff Brain Yelverton reached 291 for six.

Whitchurch put their foot down from the off and were 100 for one after 16 overs – Ben Powell 64 - when the Moorland weather closed in.

As the second innings didn’t get to 20 overs, the there was no need to work out run rates.

It was pretty close though at the time.

Yelverton scored at 6.47. Whitchurch were going along at 6.25.
