CULLOMPTON edged fractionally further ahead of Alphington at the top of the C Division East during a truncated game against Whimple.

Cully were 149 for six after 27 overs when rain stopped play.

Three batting bonus points were three more than Alphington got from a wash-out against  Uplyme & Lyme Regis.

Cullompton are now nine points ahead of Alphington going into this Saturday’s home match with Kilmington.

The bulk of Cullompton’s total was scored during a stand of 101 for the third wicket between skipper James Blackmore (41) and James Parr (48).

Brendon Parr clubbed 21 not out in a hurry before the rain came.

Leigh Lorenzen (3-25) was the pick of the bowlers.

RELEGATION worriers Countess Wear and Clyst St Geroge didn’t get much out of their game.

A stand of 95 between Mark Davey (29) and Kav Dias (63) formed the bulk of Wear’s total of 109 for three.

The game didn’t get past the 20-over point.

Weart collected two bons batting points and St George took away a bowling point.

CLYST Hydon, who did not bowl a ball against Kilmington, are away to Uplyme & Lyme Regis this Saturday.
