Nalin Chouhan - man of the match for Woodbury with a hat-trick against Tiverton

KENTISBEARE were under the cosh against Topsham when rain stopped play at Bonfire Field.

The visitors were 64 for six after 25 overs when the umpires decided enough was enough. No batsman had made more than eight and the biggest total of runs had come from 26 extras.

Kents, who are chasing Barnstaple and  Chardstock at the top of the table, will hope for better luck with the weather  when Tiverton make the short trip over this Saturday.

TIVERTON were all out for 165 in their meeting with improving Woodbury & Newton St Cyres.

Then the rain came to wash out W&NSC’s chance of a second straight win.

Sam Reed (32) and Richard Pugsley (39) were the main run scorers for Tiverton.

Skipper  Nalin Chouhan was the man of the moment with the ball for W&NSC – his four for 14 included a hat-trick.

Gary Larcombe (86) and Ed Brown (80) were in the runs for Chardstock (203-5 before rain stopped play against Honiton.

HALBERTON & Sandford Peverell picked up 10 points from a rain-off against leaders Barnstaple & Pilton.

Lee Hooper hit 58 off 79 fours in testing conditions for batters as H&SP made 160 for eight.

Halberton were 55 for four with Jonny Chilcott just out for a second-ball duck to Robin Lake (2-15) when Hooper and Adrian Hills (27) picked up the tempo with a stand of 80.

Barnstaple skipper Steve Moore (1-13 off 9) was almost unplayable. Jack Moore had three for 39 including Hooper and Hills.

Barnstaple & Pilton were 51 for one after 13 overs when rain stopped play. Andy Barton was on 25 not out.
