A wonderful week away at Malvern, where the girls had great fun, and despite the rather disappointing cricket, they made new friends; went to Laser Quest and ClueHQ on our rained off day with the Netherlands.

Match One

Our first match was against the Malvern's chosen U13s. It was not to be our best day batting, with almost a collapse of our top six for just 19 runs between them in just overs; but thanks to Hollie Perkin (8) coming in at 7 and Jemma Ansley (15) as 11th who batted for so many overs for us to reach 83-10.

Devon fielded well, and good overs from Maddie (4-0-6-1), Ellen (6-2-9-0) and Ciara (3-1-6-1). We lost by 5 wickets.

Match Two

Unfortunately the weather put paid to any outdoor matches today, but despite this the Devon girls made great friends with the Netherlands who we were due to play. Indoor cricket was arranged and Devon played Netherlands. Devon batted first with Emma Seward (25), Holly Elsworth (6), Maddie Holifield (12), Becca Halliday (27), Cassia Astley-Jones (7) and Hollie Perkin (23) scoring the runs. Devon ended their innings on 131.

The Devon girls bowled well and restricted the Netherlands to 97.

Devon won by 34 runs.

Match Three

Devon faced Surrey in our last match of the Festival. It was a very windy day, which did not only blow in the rain, but fortunately the heavy showers were brief.

Devon found it difficult to bat against the Surrey's bowlers. And only Emma Seward (10), Maddie Holifield (13) and Jemma Ansley (11*) reached double figures. Surrey bowled Devon out for a rather disappointing 59!

It only took Surrey 11 overs to reach the target and won by 9 wickets.
