IVYBRIDGE came a cropper by 11 runs in a low-scoring affair at Chudleigh.

Chudleigh, who were asked to bat first in moist conditions, were skittled out for 85 by Josh Coker (4-15), George Berry (3-15) and James Sharp 92-18).

Coker was virtually  responsible for reducing Chudleigh to 20 for five on his own.

Will Heather’s plucky 36 was a real captain’s contribution for the home side. No one else made more than 13.

Ivybridge were all out for 74 in reply with more than 16 overs to go.

Matt Ball (2-24) did the early damage, Heather (2-21) and Ben Holmes kept the pressure on then Rob Clarke (4-11) spun out the stragglers.

Skipper Harry Solomon made a top  score of 21 and Charles Kunje 19 on his debut.

Tail-enders Sharp and Berry nibbled away at the deficit in long innings, but couldn’t get close enough.
