Ryan Dennis on his way to 58 for Bridestowe against Bovey Tracey

BOVEY Tracey were knocked off the top of the C West table when they lost by six wickets to Bridestowe.

Defeat dropped Bovey (71pts) down to fourth in the table as Lewdown (86), Bridestowe (84) and Kingsbridge (81) all won to go past them.

Bovey were one down early thanks to a sharp stumping from Mark Fogerty off Tom Boother (1-32).

Freddie Eyston (43) and Will Christophers (42) put on 83 for the second wicket before they were both dismissed by Alex Jopling (3-21).

Other than Derek Perry (44no), no one else in the Bovey innings made double figures as Ryan Dennis (2-21) and Gary Sizmur (3-43) picked up regular wickets.

Bovey finished on 164 for nine from their 45 overs, denying Bridestowe maximum bowling points.

In the chase, Bridestowe lost Sizmur (5) early to the bowling of Ben Steer (1-39).

James Ewen (53) and Ryan Dennis (56) put on 125 for the second wicket, starting slowly and upping the run rate through the chase.

Both eventually fell short of the victory to Dan Green (2-24) and Calum Stanley (1-29), but the remaining runs were knocked off with a minimum of fuss.

DARTINGTON & Totnes were comfortable six-wicket winners in the derby clash with Ashburton.

Ashburton struggled against Ben Hartridge (5-16), Matt Sevior (3-18) and James Howrihane, who bowled nine overs for just 20 runs conceded.

Opener Kev Nicholls was last man out for 34 in an Ashburton total of 126 all out. Ashley Berry (36) put on 62 for the second wicket with Nicholls before the decline started.

Sevior (16) and Howrihane (24) gave D&T a 40-run start, then Josh Orrall (22) and Chris Cook (40) took few chances in a match-winning duet of 67 for the third wicket.

KINGSBRIDGE bounced back from their defeat by Lewdown with a 65-run victory over visiting Shaldon.

Kingsbridge upped the tempo after seeing of former Devon and Bovey Tracey seamer Ryan Bougourd (9-3-7-1) in the Shaldon attack to make 200 for six.

James Ford top scored with 75 for Kingsbridge, who were 10 for three when he and Dan Hardy (22) came together. Andy Sutton chipped in with 30.

Shaldon looked like being bowled out sub-100 when they were 72 for eight with top scorer Bougourd (19) just out to Bhanu deSilva (4-50).

Tail-enders Mark Jameson (51) and Mark Couch (19) added 57 for the ninth wicket to earn a couple of bonus points and make the scoreline respectable.

Richard Carr, Neal Peach and Olly Robinson, who whipped out the tail, all took two wickets each.

CORNWOOD II made light work of their Plympton counterparts in the C Division West derby clash at Harewood Park.

Lee Baker grabbed five wickets for 24 runs, and Ben Beaumont took two for 20, as Plympton dismissed Cornwood for 111.

A brace of 15s for skipper Jason Degg and Josiah Caunter was as good as it got in the 29 overs Plympton batted.

Nathaniel Bell (71no) and James Bell (22) had an eight-wicket win wrapped up inside 17 overs.

Plympton have now lost five on the trot and are already 33 points adrift at the bottom in a division with three relegation places.

DAVE Ball lashed a century and Jack Brady played a big role too in Lewdown’s 118-run win over Chagford.

Ball faced 117 balls for his 122, 92 of which came in boundaries, in Chagford’s total of 277 for seven.

There were plenty of sizable stands, the best being one of 119 for the sixth wicket with Brady. Derek Lammonby broke the stand by bowling Ball with the score on 240.

Brady finished unbeaten on 59 and there was a cameo 22 not out off 12 balls by Nick Hayden.

Chagford dipped to 31 for three in reply, recovered to 98 for four while Will Lammonby (41) and Sam Dulston (50) were together, then subsided to 159 all out.

Brady showed his all-round worth by taking four wickets for 37 runs and there were two wickets each for Adam Creasey and Ball.
