PLYMOUTH have joined Cullompton and Exmouth at finals day in the Servicemaster Clean Devon T20 Cup after disposing of Cornwood by 35 runs in the quarter-finals.

Plymouth, 101 for four with five overs to go, reached 147 for eight with Tom Hughes (31) and Dan Goodey (29) scoring the early runs.

Youngster Ollie Parsons (21) chipped and chiselled runs in the last quarter.

Cornwood went off at a fast pace sprinting to 36 for one in the first three overs. Aaron Richards – 23 off 14 balls – doing much of the damage against the bowling of Joe Hagan-Burt and Sam Stein.

Hadleigh Scott-Kirk (two overs for two runs) and Goodey (three overs for six runs) quickly got the lid on Cornwood.

As the runs dried up scoreboard pressure grew and wickets fell trying to keep up.

Cornwood went from 36 for one to 60 for six with Matt Petherbridge (3-23) picking up the wickets.

Ben Beaumont (16), Ben Griffiths (20) and Luke Richardson (16no) all produced cameos but Hal Kerton (3-8) sorted out the lower order to give Plymouth an outright win with eight balls to go.

The one outstanding quarter-final between North Devon and Bradninch is scheduled for Sunday, July 8 at Instow (11am).
