Trevor anning - runs and wickets for Budleigh again

IVYBRIDGE are resigned to another week on the bottom of the table following their nine-wicket drubbing by Budleigh Salterton.

Josh Zimmerman opened up with 28 and there were contributions of 30 from George Thompson and 37 by Adam Huxtable in the Ivybridge total of 158 all out.

Former Devon all-rounder Trevor Anning (3-35) and Adam Jones (3-29) were Budleigh’s leading bowlers. Joel Murphy (1-22) and Ed Doble (1-23) gave little away.

Budleigh lost opener Marc Troman with the score on 35 – and that was all Ivybridge had to celebrate.

Annning stroked an unbeaten 109 – 21 fours and two sixes – and Doble made 34 not out as the runs were knocked off with more than 18 overs to go.

Ivybridge are 12 points adrift at the bottom with seven games to go.
