SEATON skipper Ben Morgan is just a little wary going into tomorrow’s game at Shobrooke Park

Seaton are one of the top and Shobrooke one off the bottom of the table.

Four games into the season Shobrooke were unbeaten in second spot. They have lost seven on the spin on the way down the rankins.

One of Shobrooke’s wins was in round three when they won at Seaton. That’s why Morgan is a bit cagey.

“We lost to Shobrooke in the first round of matches, are surprised they are near the bottom end of the table so are expecting a tough game,” said Morgan.

Leaders Barton are away to Thorverton, who have been creeping up the table in recent weeks.

Keeper-batter Andy Hele is unavailable and Nathan Beech drops into the second team for some batting practice.

Skipper Adam Parker and Morgan Harford return, having missed the win over Shobrooke last time out that put Barton 18 points clear of Seaton at the top.

“We are looking to keep up the good work and, hopefully, widen the gap at the top,” said Parker.

Bottom side Babbacombe are away to former leaders Filleigh.

Third-placed Tavistock go to Plymstock, who are fifth in the table.

Cullompton, who surprised a few with their runaway win over Plymstock last time out, have the chance to pull away from the danger zone.

Cullompton are at home to Ipplepen, who are eight points below the in the two spots immediately ahead of the relegation places.

“If we can win this weekend, it pushes us further into a mid-table position,” said skipper James Blackmore.

“We just need to continue playing positive simple cricket, keep the extras down, stick to simple bowling strategies and bat sensibly.

“As has been shown this season, a lot of sides in this league are very similar in strength.”
