DEVON'S under-15 girls slipped to a six-wicket defeat when they met Hampshire at Lord Wandsworth College.

Skipper Emma Corney made 50 and Olivia Churcher 43 in a running total of 129 for nine.

The rest of the batting crumbled with the last eight wickets falling for 18 runs in a Devon total of 150 all out.

Katie Donovan raised Devon hopes when she had Hants opener Gemma Porter caught behind first ball. A wicket for Churcher made it 39 for two.

A stand of 104 between Ameilia Marshall (69no) and Ashneet Chahal (21) left Hants needing eight to win. Game over.

Devon’s under-13 girls didn’t fare much better in their encounter with Gloucestershire at Hanham.

Issy Patel helped herself to five wickets as Devon collapsed from 85 for three to 93 all out in the 31stover.

Georgie Read (20) and Ruby Davis (28) had given Devon a start, but it wasn’t built on.

Glos were nine for two at one stage with a wcket each for Ellie Bishop (2-9) and Harriet Duke (1-1). 

Player of the match Patel stroked 59 not out off 73 balls, which included nine boundaries, to wrap-up a six-wicket win.
