NOT a ball was bowled in the A Division, which means it remains as you were at the top where Torquay (256pts), Paignton (249) and Cornwood (240) are chasing two promotion places.

Torquay were due to play lowly Ivybridge and Paignton were supposed to be in action at Budleigh Salterton.

George Benton, the Paignton captain, said as no one else played, no real harm had been done by the first rain-off of the season.

“We are still in the top two so we aren't too disappointed by not playing, but it would have been good to play and potentially close the gap on Torquay,” said Benton.

“We know the next three games are very important and hope to take max points to give us promotion.”

The first of those games is against Brixham this Saturday, when Torquay host Budleigh Salterton.

Chudleigh’s home game with Abbotskerswell did not get started.

Bideford were due to play Brixham, who are also involved in the relegation scrap.

With three games to go, starting with Abbotskerswell at home this Saturday, Bideford have 11 points between them and Chudleigh, who occupy the second relegation spot.

The weather washed out the eagerly awaited derby date between Cornwood and Plympton at Oak Park.

Ivybridge, rained off against Torquay, remain bottom, 14 points away from safety.
