Flashback! Barton with the Aaron Printers Cup, one of many trophies won this season

BARTON completed a 1st XI clean sweep when they defeated Cullompton by six-wickets in the Corinthian Cup final at Instow.

Barton already had the Tolchards DCL B Division title in the bag and the South Devon District T20 Aaron Printers Cup on the shelf. The have also claimed the Dick Lear Cup and won the South Devon League with their Sunday side.

Cullompton, conquerors of 10-man Upottery in the morning semi, made 121 for nine in the final.

Andy Hele - hit 60 for Barton in the win over CullomptonAlex Clist (29) and James Shere (29) rescued Cully from 73 for seven after the early order had been trashed by Adam Parker (3-26) and Stuart Bowker (3-14).

Rain delayed the Barton reply, but once they got going there was little stopping them.

Tom Porter (20) and Shaun Needham (14) made early inroads, leaving former Devon keeper-batsman Andy Hele (60) and Parker (26no) to effectively win the game by putting on 86.

It must have been a case of déjà vu for Cullompton, who lost in last season’s final at Shaldon to Seaton.

Cullompton had way too much firepower for Upottery in the first semi-final.

Adrian Pullin (3-22) and Brendon Parr (4-8) did the damage as Upottery were skittled for 46.

Cully opener Shere was dismissed first ball, but that was as good as it got for Upottery as Euan Tinley (32) and Jason Parr (16) sorted out an eight-wicket win.

Holders Seaton always had a job on their hands against Barton after being held to 133 for three.

Opener Ollie Aplin (28) helped Seaton reach 54 for two, Matt Hewer added 28 then Ben Morgan (38no) and Ollie Pinnock (24) clattered 57 unbroken in the last seven overs.

The stand-out bowler in the Barton bowling attack was Matt Lipton (4-1-14-1).

There was little doubt over the outcome once Porter (37) and Needham (40) put on 70 for the first wicket.

Parker (30no) saw Barton most of the rest of the way there.
