DEVON U15 Development Squad were facing an uphill fight as they entered day two in the annual Battle of the Kruger.

Hosts Nelspruit Hoërskool took advantage of some lacklustre bowling and fielding on Devon’s part to post 191 at the end of their first innings.

Rory Medlock toiled brilliantly in the heat to return figures of 3-39 from 16 overs.  Ethan Carlisle finished with 2-17.

James Hayter (21) and Ruben Windley (20) battled well to take Devon to the first drinks break putting on 43 for the first wicket.

From then on it was pretty much down hill as the visitors ended up more than 90 runs behind with seven wickets down and it all to do on the final day.
