BOVEY Tracey’s overseas star Brian Chari will be cooling his heels tomorrow after hot-footing it over from Zimbabwe for a season in the Tolchards Devon League.

The 27-year old batsman, who has featured in seven Tests and 11 one-day internationals, was due to make his debut against North Devon.

A paperwork error meant Chari was not registered in time to play tomorrow.

“It is a shambles,” said Bovey captain Toby Codd.

“Brian arrives at Heathrow at 6.30 tomorrow and I am picking him up.

“He can’t play as the agent did not issue the visa quickly enough.”

Mike Pugh comes into the Bovey side as cover

BARTON have made some late changes for their A Division game against Budleigh Salterton.

Batter Will Grainger and spinner Stuart Bowker come in to strengthen the side that lost first-time out to Hatherleigh.

Adam Parker, the Barton captain, said: “We need to build on the positives and bounce back with a first win.”
