Dom Durman - kept it tight for Ipplepen

PAIGNTON will play Chelston & Kingskerswell in the first semi-final of the this season’s Aaron Printers Cup.

Paignton got through thanks to a nine-wicket win over Ipplepen. Chelston & Kingskerswell defeated cup holders Barton in their quarter-final.

Dan Wolf crashed a match-winning 96 not out in Paignton’s victory over Ipplepen.

Ipplepen’s total of 135 for six always looked a little on the low side and so it proved as Paignton went past it with more than two overs to spare.

Wolf – six fours, eight sixes – put on 74 for the first wicket with Noah Wright (22) and 63 unbroken with Luke Medlock.

The Durman brothers – Tom (0-21) and Dom (1-26) - had the best four-over stats for Ipplepen.

Chelston & Kingskerswell (127-7) defeated Barton (73-9) by 54 runs. The semi-final showdown is at Abbotskerswell CC on Thursday, June 20.

The other semi-final is between Dartington & Totnes and Stoke Gabriel at Paignton CC on Wednesday, June 26.

Dartington & Totnes eased into the last four with a comfortable nine-wicket win against Shaldon.

Shaldon were all out for 135 in the last of their 20 overs. Openers Ruben Minnaar (35) and Karl Blackburn (31) got away to a 72-run start, but next best was Mark Jameson with 16.

Darts’ Jacobus Snyman (1-2 off 3) was almost impossible to get away and wickets fell to Harry Baxendale (3-34) and Tyler Walton (3-22) as the innings unfolded.

Snyman reeled off 40 from 34 balls in a 77-run stand with Jono Colegate that set the tone for the reply.

Colegate was still there unbeaten on 63 when the winning runs were hit with nine balls un-bowled.

Stoke Gabriel squeezed into the last four thanks to a four-run win over Abbotskerswell.

Stoke made 132 for eight in their 20 overs, taken there by skipper Jack Tolley (25) and Calum Moses (29).

Charlie Smout-Cooper was Abbots’ leading bowler. He spun his way to figures of three for 12 from four overs.

Abbots top four – Westlake, Williams, Watkin and Cowdry – all got into the 20s but no further.

Tolley got his bowling changes spot on and four-over sets from Isaac Withington (1-17) and Moses (0-22) helped keep Abbots to 128 for four.
