KINGSBRIDGE put down a marker for the season ahead when they defeated Plymouth CS&R by 62 runs.

Civil’s bowlers didn’t get much change out of the Kinsbridge batters as the South Hams side cruised along to 213 for seven.

James Ford (25) and Elliot Bradbury (44) opened up with 83 and a further stand of 51 between Bradbury and Will Dorey (29) kept the board ticking over.

James Rosewarne heldp the middle order together, coming in at 153 for four and batting through for an unbeaten 46.

Rob Walker was the prime Civil bowler with four for 21. Matt Trevorrow (0-35) and James Sharpe (0-20) didn’t give much away.

Civil were unspectacular at the start as Neal Peach (2-30) and Will Pike put them under pressure but finally got going when Dan Sanders (37) and Walker (21) reached 111 for four with a stand of 60,

Four wickets went for 13 runs – Pike and Bhanu DaSilva (2-33) and Pike went on to claim five for 22 as Civil were bowled out for 151.

Kingsbridge go to Chagford this Saturday.
