EXMOUTH have signed early order batsman Rory Thomas to bolster their line-up for the 2020 season.

Thomas joined Sidmouth from Bradninch for the 2019 season looking to maintain the form that earned him a place in the Devon Lions development squad.

Although Thomas played in 16 1st XI games for Sidmouth last season, he did not make quite the impression he was hoping for.

Rory Thomas - on the way to ExmouthA total of 13 Premier Division games produced a modest 150 runs at an averge of around 11 and just one half-century.

Thomas scored more runs in four 2nd XI games, where he totted-up 269 at an average in the high 60s with a best of 183 against Exeter.

Andy Buzza, the Exmouth captain believes he knows what Thomas is capable of from his time as a team-mate at Bradnnich and is glad to have him on board.

"Rory is a young, enthusiastic player with a desire to improve, which fits the bill of what I want at Exmouth”, said Buzza.

“Rory is a destructive opening batsman, who plays with freedom and has the capability of changing the game is a short period of time.

“I have explained to him he can't fail, simply learn. I think it's a great move for him and a great signing for us.”
