BOVEY Tracey skipper Toby Codd has announced that he won’t be continuing as captain next season.

Codd, who recently completed his degree studies at university, is hoping to land a job in Bristol, which would make it difficult to remain as Bovey captain.

“Even if I am around I have decided it is time to give someone else a go,” said Codd, who replaced Peter Bradley as skipper for the 2018 season.

“If I get a job in Bristol I will find a team up there; if I am down here I will obviously play for Bovey.”

Codd had just turned 20 when he took over as captain, which made him the youngest skipper of a Premier side at the time.

Any shortlist of replacements would have to include Lewis Hammett, who has been acting captain during absences in the past.
