Pro-Active Leadership within the Cricket Community
Andy Alford – Winner
As the secretary of the West Devon Youth League, Andy Alford has shown pro-active leadership in promoting and organising the safe return of junior cricket in West Devon.
Throughout a period of uncertainty he kept in regular communication with the member clubs and the Devon Cricket Board in order to have the best chance of getting cricket played again when it was possible.
Andy, who has been part of the league committee for 27 years, always has the junior players interests in mind. He said: "I am really pleased to see youth cricket return, these players are the future of the game many of us love.
“The main focus had to be to get the youngsters on the field of play.
“It is about all clubs coming together to ensure we expose the game to our future players.”
