BIDEFORD v CHUDLEIGH

Bideford (Alex Hannam):“Julian Hayter and Ian Hayter come in for John Weeks and Rob North (unavailable). Looking to lengthen the batting order and looking forward to a competitive game against a team who have got off to a strong start.”

Chudleigh CC (Will Heather):"We have a number of forced changes this week for the first time and will have to shuffle the pack a bit. Rob Clarke is out with a broken finger, which he picked up last week against Bovey Tracey. We are playing that one by ear on a weekly basis, so unknown how long he will be out for. Ed Foreman is out due to his wife giving birth to their second child. Congratulations to them and wish them all the best. Will Lammonby and Kam Singh are also away. Young spinner Luke Quaintance comes in for Rob Clarke. Ben Cowling comes in to the top of the order having put together some good scores for the second team and scoring another 50 last week. He also offers a seam option with the ball. Also travelling is Paul Windsor-Horne to slot into the top order. Although we have a number of changes, we are still at really good strength and looking forward to building on last week's strong performance against a reinforced Bovey Tracey side. We are going into this fixture with a mindset that last week's result won't deter us.”

BOVEY TRACEY v PLYMSTOCK

Bovey Tracey (Jeremy Christophers):“We are very much in transition at Bovey Tracey Cricket Club between our first and second teams. The first-team squad is around 16 and 17 and there are always going to be players changing between teams. Ryan Bougourd remains with the second team, as he has throughout the season. He is joined by other regular first-teamer Will Christophers who – although being the leading wicket taker in the club – finds himself with us to try and get his batting going again and will bat in the top four. Derek Perry and myself are carrying slight injuries and are looking to support the team in future weeks, but this represents quite a change in the make-up of our side, as we 'veterans' have been key components of the team for the last few years. We are both still very much out there in spirit, but our bodies are letting us down on a very regular basis these days. With a younger team, we are really looking forward to entertaining Plymstock again for the second-time this week, after their visit in Corinthian Cup on Sunday.”

Plymstock (James Nicholls):“We are raring to go and want to make up for lost time. Availability is starting to get there and we need to knuckle down and get going. Team-wise there are 1st XI debuts for middle-order batsman Jamie Palfreyman and we welcome for the first time Doug Naylor who trained well in the week and can't wait to get about his work. Jamie hadn't played cricket for a few years and has come in and been great around the club. Doug has played 1st XI cricket in the Surrey Championship and is a very handy off-spinning all-rounder, who will offer an awful lot to the side. Bovey are a club in a strong position as a club and we know their 2nd XI are a good side.”

DARTINGTON v KILMINGTON

Dartington: New signing of Joe Martin remains in the side. Nick Dennis still unavailable but joe Parker is back with only shin splints in his left leg. Dave Harvey gives up the gloves.

Kilmington (Brett Garner):“Few missing this week due to work commitments, still fairly strong thankfully and hoping to bounce back after the defeat last week! Don't know too much about Dartington so looking forward to the challenge.”

IPPLEPEN v THORVERTON

Ipplepen (Simon Tapley):“Two changes to the team from last week Will Castleton and Dave Harris drop out for experienced batsman Andrew Maynard and young fast bowler Oliver Holroyd. We were a bit inept last week against Heathcoat and we are looking to bounce straight back against a strong Thorverton team.”

Thorverton (Jake Choules):“Heard, Coe, Vukusic in for Fielder, Pitt, Chilcott (all unavailable). Bobby Heard and Ben Coe both scored 50s for the 2ndXI last week and Ben scored 99 the week before. Luke Vukusic comes in for his first 1stXI game of the season, but he did really well in the mini league and T20s last year so deserves this chance. Would've liked to have the three available, but feel we've still got a strong side out. It just means some tinkering to the batting order. A really good opportunity for others to stake a claim higher up the order. Ipplepen have had a good start to the season so expecting a tough game. Looking forward to it.”

IVYBRIDGE v HEATHCOAT II

Heathcoat (Matt Hodson):“Happy to have James Gregson available back from university. He adds a lot to our bowling, batting and fielding. We also have Ben Fitzherbert coming in to keep wicket. We are really enjoying are cricket at the moment and it's exciting for the club to have so many talented young cricketers coming through and getting the opportunity to play a at a good level.”
