RISING STAR WINNER 2021 - HOLLY EVANS (BOVEY TRACEY CC)Holly Evans at the Young Storm Champion Course

When it comes to cricket Holly always has a smile on her face and oozes enthusiasm. Having taken part in the Young Storm Champions course Holly has volunteered every Friday at her cricket club supporting junior training. She has volunteered at a number of countywide events this summer leading set of activities. She never gives up (despite the rain!) and carries on being enthusiastic and supportive to all the participants throughout.

Jack HarmanGAME CHANGER WINNER 2021 - JACK HARMAN (PAIGNTON CC)

Jack has dedicated his time to managing and coaching the Under 13/15’s Girl’s Cricket Teams and done so in a thoroughly competent and professional manner.  Jack has nurtured and developed the young ladies and produced a group with spirit and real and obvious talent. Jack’s calm and approachable character has undoubtedly encouraged more young ladies to join and has managed to keep and grow the group over the past couple of years. He really has made an incredible difference to the way Paignton Cricket Club include young females of all ages in our overall cricketing strategy.

LIFETIME ACHIEVER WINNER 2021 - ANDY DAVIES (BIDEFORD, LITTLEHAM &WESTWARD HO! CC)Andy Davies

President, Chairman, Treasurer, Groundsman, Club Captain and Colts Administrator are positions Andy Davies has occupied in the 70 years he has been involved with Bideford CC. He continues to run Bideford’s U9s within their thriving colts’ section which is continually providing players for their senior teams. Cricket Force, Chance to Shine and the work within the local schools has helped Bideford CC build lasting partnerships with the community and this has all been led by Andy. 70 years at one club and still working hard, decorating the club house during the winter, cutting the outfield during summer and mending machinery when needed. Moreover, he was a superb cricketer in his playing career!

UNSUNG HERO WINNER 2021 - ROBERT 'BOB' POWELL (WHITCHURCH WAYFARERS CC)

Bob is a long serving committee member, lead All Stars Activator and 2nd XI stalwart. He prepares the pitch every week and is a dab hand at fundraising for kit and equipment. He is always there at training, sometimes leading the session, every Saturday behind the stumps with encouragement for the younger players (older ones too!) and every week preparing the wicket. He’s even offered his free time to help younger players in the 2nd team build batting confidence.  He's the beating heart of our club and Whitchurch Wayfarers would be a poorer club and lesser team in the 2nds without his presence skill, support and friendship.

CRICKET INNOVATOR WINNER 2021 - PETER GUEST (HEATHCOAT CC)

Peter has made All Stars. He has built a team of helpers around him and his enthusiasm spreads around the club. Not just this year – he does this every year with no letup and even more enthusiasm every year. His dedication and time every week in organising is second to none. He is now running Dynamos and it is going to be a big success at Heathcoat Cricket Club!

Lyndon Piper UmpiringGROWING THE GAME WINNER 2021 - LYNDON PIPER (HOLSWORTHY CC)

Lyndon has been a driving force behind an important link between Hatherleigh and Holsworthy cricket clubs for the last two seasons, greatly enhancing the playing opportunities of all the youth teams at both clubs. Lyndon captain’s the 2nd XI team at Holsworthy, has recently helped set up a Women’s softball section at Holsworthy as well as preparing the pitch at Holsworthy to get the game one. As well as all his hard work at Holsworthy, he also manages the under 11s at Hatherleigh and helps with the under 13s. Where possible he will umpire or score a game to help get the game on.

INSPIRED TO PLAY WINNER 2021 - LESLEY THOMSON (BUCKLANDLesley Thomson (bottom row on the right) MONACHORUM CC)

Lesley started the ladies’ section at Buckland Monachorum several years ago and has since worked hard to grow the number of ladies that play in the club. She has worked hard to develop her cricket knowledge and skills, attending coaching courses and organising umpire and scoring training for her team. More recently she has been the link between Buckland and Yelverton Cricket Club, who have now joined together to form a girls section. Lesley also manages the girls team, as well as coach them. The numbers continue to go from strength the strength
