No play today at Exmouth CC<br>credit: Conradcopy Ltd

DEVON’S Twenty20 double-header against Wiltshire at Exmouth was called off without a ball bowled due to bad weather.

Umpires Paul Sparshott and Ben Peverell cancelled the first game of the day due to persistent rain and hoped the weather would improve after an early lunch.

By four o’clock there was no improvement in the weather and with rain still failing it only took a cursory inspection of the square to reach the conclusion no play would be possible.

Devon are due to play Dorset today (Monday) at North Petherton in round three of the National Counties T20 competition.

Opening batsman Jamie Baird has withdrawn from Devon’s 12-man squad as he has been picked to play for Somerset 2nd XI against Gloucestershire 2nd XI in a four-day Second Eleven Championship game. Plymouth batsman James Degg has been called in to replace Baird.
