The weather gods looked more kindly on the Girls competition than they did on the Mixed event the week before as a beautiful still summers day greeted the girls as they arrived at Instow.  Much to the joy of the staff and parents in attendance there was no need for hats and coats this week as the girls were able to enjoy their cricket in perfect conditions.

10 teams from 9 schools competed in a round-robin format with there being a large number of very close games throughout the afternoon.  The two unbeaten teams on the day came from Marwood (950 runs) and Woolacombe (1012 runs) meaning they both qualify for the County Finals.  Sadly Marwood (whose Mixed team also qualified) will be away on a Residential week when the finals take place.  This opens the door for third placed Yeo Valley - with 3 wins and one high scoring loss - to progress to the County Round, much to their delight.
