Champions Chagford showing off their medals

10 schools from across the County met at South Devon Cricket Club to seek to become County Champions and to qualify for the South West Regional event in Bristol.

The top two teams from each of the North, South, East and West competitions were joined by Okehampton Primary and Chagford Primary from the Dartmoor Cup hosted at Okehampton College.

A random Round-Robin draw was made and the winners would be the school who had amassed the most wins after 4 rounds of matches.  It was nip and tuck for the first three rounds with schools contesting close games.  The exception were Compton who maintained a 100% record going in to round 4.  The final round proved to be crucial.  At the end of play, 4 schools were tied on 3 wins from 4 games.  Out came the calculators to separate them by runs scored.  Canada Hill secured a well deserved 4th place with 896 runs.  Tied for second with 920 were Oldway and Compton.  This meant that the team who beat Compton in the final round - Chagford - came out on top with 941 runs.

Congratulations to them, and good luck representing Devon in the South West Finals!
